What's Happened Miley!?

Okay, usually I adore Miley; Everything from her music to her style to her personality but recently I am just unsure of what's got into her. I didn't really have a problem with her cutting her hair, although I did love it long, but since then she's just gone downhill. From the twerking to the outfits and now her performance at the VMA's! In the past it has really annoyed me when people compared her to her younger self on 'Hannah Montana' because obviously people change as they get older. However, this is just on another level!

Her style used to be very chic and put together but recently she's started to look a bit tacky and wanna-beish and all we ever seem to see her in is crop tops! Usually as people get older their style improves and matures as they do but Miley seems to be dressing like a teenager would on a slighter larger scale (crop tops and tight trousers etc) but is acting like the complete opposite. There were a fair amount of tweets last night before the VMA's even started joking about how Miley is again wearing a crop top and in my opinion it was really not a good look for her. Especially with the hair done like it was. But actually, the twitter rampage about Miley started after her performance at the VMA's which really was outragous. She started off twerking with teddy bears (like in the music video for 'We Can't Stop') and pointing a foam finger in the wrong direction whilst singing quite badly out of tune and then went on to sing with Robyn Thicke and twerked on him! Take a look at her performance here.

I'm actually worried that Miley is going to turn into the next Amanda Bynes or Lindsay Lohan and I seriously hope she gets her act together and goes back to the Miley we all know and love and regains her impeccable style.

Back to blogging

I'm sitting in bed right now at a ridiculous time in the morning because I've been watching Gossip Girl since 11 PM; Obsessed is an understatement. Anyway, I've decided I'm going to start blogging again or at least try. I always go through phases of constantly blogging and then phases of completely neglecting this blog because I'm pre-occupied with other things. However, I would really like to start blogging more as once I get into it, I really enjoy it but its just getting into the routine of it is hard which I'm sure some of you may know or maybe some of you don't. I don't know if anyone else has this problem but a lot of the time I just feel too lazy to blog especially when it comes to uploading pictures and taking pictures because it does consume a lot of time. Drifted a little bit off the subject there which is me starting to blog again which I am determined to do. I've got quite a few ideas for posts up my sleeve which involve inspired outfits/look books, some of my favourite collections for A/W13 (designer and high street) and many more which I'll leave as a surprise.

There's not really much more to say now apart from I'm glad I'm back and if anyone has anything they'd like to see on my blog then leave it in the comments and I hope you're all doing well.

It's A Neon Summer.

One of the biggest trends this summer is neon colours and I have to say as I do with many of summer 2013's trends, I love it. If it's done right then it's fabulous and adds something eye-catching and fun to a plain, boring outfit; That's my favourite way to style neon instead of piling lots of different neon colours into one outfit- I think that's a little bit too much and can look tacky. Zara is stocking some amazing neon pieces this season as are many of the high street stores however Zara's summer stock is just amazing; as Victoria BakerHarber tweeted a few days ago 'Is Zara just not the best thing that has ever happened to Fashion?' - completely agree!

My favourite colour this summer is neon yellow. Although it really is an 'out there' colour, I think incorporating it into a neutral outfit is just fabulous. My favourite way to do this is with accessories especially a bag. The neon yellow bag Michael Kors has brought out this summer is just to die for and Zara are doing many similar style bags that colour on the slightly cheaper side. Yellow is not the only neon Zara are stocking this summer, I picked up a stunning electric/neon blue bag with cream straps which I am looking forward to wearing this summer.

What are your favourite summer trends and how are you wearing them? Let me know in the comments and send me links to your posts.
Need to pick this up!!

Met Ball 2013

It was a very unique choice of theme at this years Met Ball as the guests were asked to go punk. However, I think it was brilliant to see how everyone was styled especially the guests who would usually be seen in more feminine outfits. There were some fabulous looks and I think this is one of my favourite Met Gala's yet.

Here are some of my favourite looks...

Alexa Chung looks fabulous in this gothic dress and matched the punk theme perfectly. The shoes are gorgeous and I love the way there's so  little detail on them compared to the dress which is very detailed- nice contrast.

In my opinion, Jessica Alba always looks amazing; She's one of those people who could go out in a bin bag and you wouldn't even notice because of how beautiful she is. However, I do love this dress and I think she pulls it off fabulously. I like the way it's floor length but then there are slits near the top so she's showing off skin without wearing a skimpy dress.

Cara never fails to amaze me with her red carpet looks. She always looks amazing and does everything right. Cara's wearing head to toe Burberry and Burberry's new season pieces were seen a lot on the guests at this years Met Ball.

Oh Miranda. Miranda Kerr is so stunning and her dress sense just adds to it. This Michael Kors dress is fabulous and no one could pull it off like Miranda does. She also added this spiked Christian Louboutin clutch which made her outfit even more 'punky'. LOVE.

How can you not love Sarah Jessica Parker? She is so much like Carrie Bradshaw  who she plays it's unbelievable. She's never afraid to go all out there with her outfits especially her red carpet ones. This Giles Deacon dress is so stunning and she wears it fabulously and to give her outfit that punk edge she added these tartan over-the-knee boots and this fabulous Philip Treacy Mohican headpiece.

Sienna Miller is again dressed in full Burberry and she looks gorgeous. The dress alone is beautiful but not at all taking to the Punk theme but adding the studded jacket and studded headband made it take to the theme perfectly. She looks so stunning and I just adore this look.

Brian Lichtenberg

Brian Litchenberg is a fabulous designer who is not so big in the world of fashion yet but inputs some genius ideas into it. His designs are ever so simple but look amazing however they are printed onto clothing. Litchenberg plays on the logos of iconic fashion houses like Céline (Féline), Hermès (Homiès), Bucci (Gucci) and Balmain (Ballin); This may not appeal to some but I think it's brilliant and such a clever way to create playful pieces of clothing. Since Litchenberg's clothing has been seen on Rihanna, Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and many other people who are hugely looked up to in the fashion world, he has started to gain a lot more publicity. Next season, his designs are going to be sold in huge retailers like Harvey Nichols and Lane Crawford.

I do not yet own anything by Brian Litchenberg as it is rather expensive but I spend a lot of my time browsing their website deciding what is definitely getting bought when I have some money for luxuries but for now, I shall have to carry on being very jealous of anyone who owns something by him as there is not one piece of clothing by Litchenberg I do not like. Hopefully this brand is going to keep on getting more publicity and get bigger and better (if that's possible)!
Jourdan Dunn in the 'Homies' Hoodie.

Jasmine Tookes looking hot in this lilac 'Ballin' jumper.

Rihanna looking amazing as usual in the 'Homies Graffiti' Jumper.

Cara in the 'Bucci' tee which she has been caught wearing numerous amounts of times.

Khloe Kardashian in the 'Homies' tee.

Rihanna again looking unreal in the 'Homies'  jumper.

Hayden Williams.

Hayden Williams is an upcoming artist who sketches celebrity's, models and fashion icons. He posts all of his work on Instagram and that's how he is becoming known; I've followed him since he only had a couple of hundred followers and now he has over 300 thousand - it's amazing what social networking can do these days. He has recently been noticed by the public eye because of his illustrations of Beyonce which really are amazing and I'm so glad people are actually starting to see his work and how much talent he has.

His drawings are not as you would expect and look cartoonish in a way however they're so easily recognisable and portray whoever he is drawing immaculately. Beyonce herself actually re-posted Hayden's illustration of her onto her own Instagram which when I saw it I was very excited about. Hayden is only 21 and is doing exactly as it says on his Instagram bio 'Conquering the world one fashion sketch at a time...' I can see him playing a huge role in the fashion world and he's already massive in the social networking side of it. I love seeing new work of his come up on my Instagram feed and I've never just scrolled past without looking at the detail in it. He is unbelievable.

Here are some of my favourite sketches of his-

Topshop Cut Out Platforms

I'm really sorry I've not been posting for a while I've just been really caught up with my school work which obviously comes first. Anyway, I made a little purchase in Topshop. I went to have a look at all the shops summer stock but 'just looking' never seems to work for me. When I went into Topshop I saw these gorgeous shoes and I just could not resist. They're such a different pair of shoes and they were right up my street. Even though they're rather high, they're really easy to walk in which is always a plus! They also did these in lots of different colours; Some were neutral colours and some were neon. There was a neon blue pair which I'm going to have to pick up for summer as that colour is very in for summer and is my favourite colour aswell.

Let me know what you think of these shoes in the comments below.

Oscar de la Renta Spring/Summer Collection 2013

The Oscar de la Renta spring/summer collection is absolutely stunning. It's so chic and there are so many unique pieces in it. When I first saw it my jaw actually dropped; It is just unreal. The fall collection is also beautiful but the spring/summer collection just blew me away. I am amazed by how many trends and styles they have fitted into one collection. This is definitely one of my favourite shows I have seen so far.

Each one of these looks is so chic yet so different to one another. The far left look is ever so elegant but the dots on it make it also edgey. The look in the middle is so classy because of the length of the dress and the lace. The far right look is just amazing; It is definitely one of my favourite looks in the whole collection as I adore fur and the fur on this is just fabulous,  the dress itself is so unique-I've never seen anything like it, the detail in the middle is stunning and they really could not have picked a better person to model it then Cara Delevingne! Each one of these looks is so different yet they're all the same colour of this gorgeous hot pink which I am sure is going to be HUGE this summer.

Each one of these looks are so classy and elegant. These looks are following the minimalistic trend immaculately. I can imagine that these dresses are going to be seen on many celebritys on the red carpet.

The first thing that comes into my head when I hear the word spring is pastels. They're such a classic for spring and Oscar de la Renta does them fabulously. I love the fact that there is florals in these looks aswell. They are beyond perfect for spring.

These designs are so gorgeous and classy. These are taking workwear to the next level and I think many fashionista's work/formal wear will be very inspired by these looks.
Ah, how I love nudes. Nude tones are perfect for anything and everything and Oscar de la Renta styles them amazingly especially in these looks. He's come up with a lot of dresses like the one on the far right and personally I think they are stunning. The shape of them is gorgeous and so figure flattering.

THIS IS JUST TOO CUTE. How adorable please? I would love to see this show it would just be so cute. The Oscar de la Renta kids collection is gorgeous. When I'm older and have kids this is where I'll be buying there clothes from!!! I would probably wear some of this myself to be honest. They've used so many on trend colours and styles and it's just amazing.

The hair for the show is fabulous. Just like the collection, it is so unique and fun! I think the hair is a really important feature on the catwalk as it sort of sets the vibe for the whole show.

I hope you've enjoyed this post. Let me know what you think of the Oscar de la Renta Spring/Summer Collection in the comments. I have a feeling there's going to be a lot more posts coming up like this as there are so many collections I'm loving at New York Fashion Week and I'm sure they'll be many more in the upcoming fashion weeks.

Rebecca Minkoff Ready-to-Wear Collection

As I'm sure you all know, New York fashion week has been taking place since last Thursday and there has been some stunning pieces by some amazing designers, Rebecca Minkoff being one of them. Rebecca Minkoff is one of my favourite designers and always comes up with some fabulous designs. I've been ill for the last couple of days and stuck on the couch with my iPad and MacBook so I've had lots of time to watch the shows and see the designs and Rebecca Minkoff's ready-to-wear collection has really caught my eye and there is some beautiful pieces. Here's some of my favourites...

The Spring/Summer Collection

The Spring Collection of Rebecca Minkoff is absolutley gorgeous. She always comes up with something so unique and it was no different this time round. This years spring collection is full of prints and very futuristic styled.
This print is very popular in the spring collection. I've seen a lot of this blue on the catwalk and I'm sure will be seeing much more of it in upcoming fashion weeks & events.
This print is definitely a favourite of mine out of the many I have seen at NYFW. The detail in it is just beautiful and very minimalist (which I'm sure you all know that I love).

This look is just stunning. The print on the trousers are gorgeous and I love the fading out of it at the bottom. I also love the fit of the shirt and the sleeve length on it; I can imagine this style of shirt will be huge this summer.

The Fall/Winter Collection

This collection is all about bold colours, mixing patterns and layering. It's bright, sophisticated and grungy. What's not to love?
These outfits are all about layers and lots of them; I think that's key for next autumn/winter- lots of layering.I love the way lots of different shapes and colours have been put together. These remind me of those outfits that looked 'thrown on' but are still amazing.

These two looks are just amazing. I love the fact she's bringing bright colours that would usually be summer colours into the winter and the dresses themselves are just stunning.

Again, this is showing an idea of layering. Gilets are also really in at the moment and I think the brown leather is a really nice touch.
I absoloutley adore this look. This grey is so in right now and I can see it staying in for a while. The leather detail around the jacket is also fabulous and the fur on the hood is just the finishing touch to an amazing jacket.

Let me know what you think of Rebecca Minkoff's ready-to-wear collection and what collections your loving at the moment?
