Elie Saab Haute Couture S/S15 Review

I look forward to couture fashion week all year long and this is mainly due to the Elie Saab show. The levels of luxury and opulence this show brings to the catwalk are unbelievable and I spent most of yesterday checking the Style.com app waiting for them to share the looks from the show and when they did, I was not disappointed. The Spring/Summer 2015 collection is just as elegant as ever and the inspiration behind it is rather personal.
Lebanese designer Elie Saab based this show on Beirut, the capital of Lebanon and his hometown, this stimulus was revealed on Instagram hours before the show took place. The collection itself took us back to the 60's with feathers, sheer fabrics and ostentatious embellishments everywhere in sight.
Saab always creates dream-like collections and Haute Couture really is his forte. Although the designer knows how to keep it classic with beautifully tailored feminine gowns, the S/S15 collection included some more modernised dresses with shorter hemlines that were worn with flats, ensuring that this show seemed as whimsical as it did extravagant.
It's pretty obvious that I don't have a bad word to say about Elie Saab when it comes to couture and if there every comes a day when I don't feel the need to rave about their collection during couture fashion week, start worrying! Here are some of my favourite looks from the show...
