Jason Wu F/W 2014/15

I've never really took much interest in Jason Wu's previous collections however when I found out that Adriana Lima was opening the show I thought it would be worth a watch and it definitely was. This collection was full of long, angular silhouettes and an array of traditional fall colours. After researching some of the past collections, I've noticed a huge change in some of the pieces; Jason opted for a much more masculine look overall in comparison especially to his Spring and Fall collections of 2013, which is most probably because he has recently become creative director for Hugo Boss- a brand that is mainly recognised for it's menswear, and I definitely prefer this collection to any others of his I've viewed.

There was an unambiguous theme of oversized pieces throughout the show which mainly included bags and coats which is right up my street as I'm loving anything oversized at the moment which is probably why this collection appeals to me so much. Another theme incorporated into the show was metallics which wasn't quite as conspicuous as the oversized motif however it was ever so innovative of Wu to contrast metallics with plain fabrics and this really topped off a fabulous collection.

This collection was unequivocally one of the best I've ever seen from Jason Wu in my opinion and I hope to see more like this from him in his future collections.
Here are a few of my favourite looks from yesterdays show-

Karlie Kloss- the perfect end to any show.

Fur This Winter

One of the things that comes to mind when I think of winter is fur. Being able to wear fur is one of my favourite parts of winter and this autumn/winter it's bigger than ever. You can't go into a shop on the high street without seeing some type of fur whether its a collar, coat or bag and there's a lot of fur in every A/W13 collection from the modern take on it in the Michael Kors collection to the classic glamour of fur in the Lanvin collection. Because of my ever-growing love for fur, this trend couldn't be any better for me and is slowly bankrupting me; I can't resist a good fur coat or my most recent fur investment, a pair of gloves. Here's a few ways some of my favourite style icons style fur…

Oliva Huebl To Be!

Finally my favourite couple, Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl, are engaged! They are both so stylish and well-suited and their adorable Instagram posts show how very much in love with each other they are. I knew it couldn't be long until this fabulous couple took it to the next step and I can not wait for the wedding; I predict a classic take on it full of roses and a stunning cathedral-like building but then again, I can also imagine the wedding on a Hawaiian beach due to the couples love for the sun and tropical islands…Or maybe they'll save that for the honeymoon. There are endless ways this marriage could go! I can't even begin to imagine the dress, a lot of people think Olivia will go for  Vera Wang seeing as that would be the obvious choice for someone as chic and elegant as her, I think she might choose Oscar De La Renta as she has said before how cherish-able De La Renta's pieces are.  Johannes posted yet another charming video of the couple in St Barts which showed Olivia with a stunning engagement ring and the caption as 'Happy New Year to everyone and this is how we celebrate it. OP said Y E S'- this is why they're my favourite couple.

I've looked right back into Olivia & Johannes relationship in photo's below and what better time to do it!?
Here it is, enjoy-

Hope you enjoyed this post and are as excited about their engagement as I am!

Best Dressed 2013

As a lot of you are probably aware, it's been a while since I've posted on this blog. I've been really busy with schoolwork, working out and having a social life. One of my new years resolutions is to try and post and be more active with my blog so I thought, why not start now? Posts like this are one of my favourite's to read and what better time to do one than the first day of 2014!? I've done a post like this before a few months ago (take a look here) and I really enjoyed writing it so I've decided to do one similar to it. Here's my best dressed list of 2013...

 Miranda Kerr
Miranda Kerr may have retired as a Victoria's Secret angel but this certainly has not affected her place in the fashion industry. Miranda's chic yet edgy looks continue to astound me each week; She always looks immaculate whether it's her polished red-carpet looks or her off-duty wardrobe, Miranda is always full of surprises! Here's a few of my favourite looks of hers…

Olivia Palermo
Olivia Palermo is a style godess and she has most definitely proved that this year. Whether she's on the streets of New York, the beaches of St Barts or on the red carpet, she never fails to come up with something beautifully sleek and stylish. Olivia has definitely worked her way up there with my top style icons and by the looks of things doing the same with the rest of the world! Here are a few of my favourite looks of hers…

Victoria Beckham
Victoria Beckham is ever so chic and I've not seen one bad picture of her this year. Victoria is always eager to wear her own pieces and I can't think of a better advertisement for the brand than the designer herself especially when the designer is VB. She is known for her sense of style and I can see why, Victoria has looked unbelievable all year. Here's a few of my favourite looks of hers…

Carey Mulligan
Carey Mulligan is so beautiful and her fabulous taste in clothing just adds to that. Her red carpet looks are always stunning and her off-duty looks match that standard if not exceeding it. I am a huge Gatsby fan and Carey's character in The Great Gatsby, Daisy Buchanan, is so similar to Carey in the way she dresses; If Daisy Buchanan lived in this era, she would dress exactly how Carey dresses now. Here's a few of my favourite looks of hers…

Kate Moss
I was definitely saving the best till last here. As many of you may know I am a HUGE fan of Kate Moss and her unbelievable fashion sense is just one of the reasons why. Kate is a style icon and this year she has yet again proved it. In my opinion, 2013 has been one of the best years yet when it comes to fashion for her because Kate keeps coming up with endless ways to have everyone in awe; She isn't called the boss for no reason, that's for sure. Kate's playboy shoot was the perfect way to finish off a fabulous year and she's starting off 2014 with lots of excitement including her 40th birthday (which is the same day as my birthday FYI). It's been a tough choice but here's a few of Kate's best looks this year in my opinion…

Hope you enjoyed reading this post and let me know who your best dressed of 2013 are in the comments!

Victoria's Secret- THE HYPE.

The time has come again for the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and personally, I love it! It's definitely my guilty pleasure and I'm full of excitement when watching the show and in the shop. The femininity and allurement of it is just so desirable and the angels are so stunning. A lot of people who have never been to the shop or watched one of the shows or had something to do with VS don't understand what people see in it and it really is hard to explain because the explanation starts off with 'It's a lingerie shop' which doesn't sound all that interesting but it's not just the lingerie; It's seeing the beautiful models and the atmosphere of it all that is really intriguing. People have said to me before 'What's the difference in it to a different lingerie shop?' and if you didn't know that much about it, you wouldn't see much difference but the statement pink and white stripe print, along with a lot of other things, feels so good to wear however snobby that sounds. Don't judge until you've been there for yourself!

The actual shop is hard to even describe, I could and have spent hours in there. Unfortunately, there are very few Victoria's Secrets in the UK and I think this is a big part of the hype. People always say 'You always want what you can't have' and I think this is very relevant to the hype of VS; I live in Liverpool and for the past year or so I would have to travel all the way to London to visit a Victoria's Secret shop so obviously I was over joyed when they opened one in the Trafford Centre (which is still a long drive from where I live). But it's so exciting when I'm able to go to the shop and I think if there was one close to me or they were common in the UK, then it would take the shine off it a little bit. This is why I'm unsure if VS is as hyped about in the US because there are hundreds (or maybe even thousands) of VS shops over there.

I just felt the need to do a post like this, first of all because of the filming of the VS Fashion Show last week (although it's not being aired till the 10th December) and second of all because I find the ever-growing interest in Victoria's Secret really interesting and wanted to hear your opinions on it! So let me know what you think of Victoria's Secret and the hype over it in the comments!
